SALISBURY, N.C. – Food Lion on Wednesday made a $ 500,000 donation to food banks across North Carolina after the state said it would temporarily suspend benefits under the Special Supplemental Nutrition Program for Women, Infants and Children Program (WIC) because of the federal government shutdown.
